Will theatre stars bare all on return to the Sunderland Empire stage?

The hit musical, based on the film of the same name, will be raising laughs at the Sunderland Empire all this week.

Directed by Jack Ryder, the tour is led by Gary Lucy as Gaz, who is best-known for his roles in Eastenders, The Bill, Footballers’ Wives and Hollyoaks.

He’s joined on stage by Andrew Dunn as Gerald, Louis Emerick as Horse, Chris Fountain as Guy, Anthony Lewis as Lomper and Kai Owen as Dave.

Like the film from 1997, it tells the story of six out-of-work Sheffield steelworkers with nothing to lose who put on a strip show.

It went on to take the world by storm, becoming one of the most successful British films ever made.

Simon Beaufoy, the Oscar and Bafta-winning writer of the film, has adapted his own screenplay for this stage production, which features the iconic songs from the film by Donna Summer, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones.
