NUNS have been on the run and causing a stir.
Dressed in their habits, the cast of Sister Act looked heavenly as they sped around Sunderland Minster for this photo.
Based on the 1992 Sister Act film, they’re playing at the church’s neighbour, the Sunderland Empire, until November 26 in the hit musical of the same name.
Starring Michael Starke, who played Sinbad in Brookside, and Denise Black from Coronation Street, the show’s been proving a hit with Wearside audiences so far.
Stepping into film star Whoopi Goldberg’s shoes as Deloris Van Cartier is rising star Cynthia Erivo.
Featuring new music written for the show, it tells the tale of lounge singer Deloris who is put into protective custody in a convent when she witnesses a murder.
Sister Act is at Sunderland Empire until November 26. Tickets priced £18.50-£43.50 are available from the 24-hour box office on 0844 871 3022 and www.SunderlandEmpire.org.uk
l The Seen in the City girls gatecrashed the photo shoot. Read about how they got on in next Thursday’s Guide.
