PERFORMERS from a much-honoured dance school are taking to the stage at one of the North East’s top theatres this weekend.

Pupils at the Kathleen Knox School of Dance won a string of awards at the Interschool Dance Festival at the Tyne Theatre.

Young performer Ryan Ridley, 18, won the “personality cup” – and has also won a place at the London Studio Centre to study a degree in performing arts.

The group, which rehearses at St George’s Church, near Park Lane, is performing at the Durham Gala Theatre on Sunday and Monday at 7pm.

Tickets cost £10 and include a donation to Cancer Research. They are available from the Gala box office or from Kathleen Knox on 564 0006.
