PRESENTER Alison Hammond will be getting audiences into the panto spirit this Christmas.
It’s been revealed that the This Morning presenter will play Slave of the Ring in Aladdin at Sunderland Empire.
The festive spectacular is being brought to Wearside by the producers behind previous pantos at the venue, Peter Pan, Cinderella and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Ben Phillips, Sunderland Empire general manager, said: “The response to the pantomime has been wonderful and we look forward to hosting another high-flying pantomime from UK Productions this year. Audiences will be spellbound with Alison’s quick wit, charm and irresistible sense of fun when she waltzes into Sunderland.”
Alison rose to fame on Channel 4’s Big Brother in 2002, which helped her to launch a television career.
As well as appearing as a celebrity interviewer on This Morning, she has appeared on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Loose Women and Strictly Come Dancing.
She is also an actress, appearing in dramas including Boon, Chalkface, Doctors, Locksmith and Palace Hill.
The cast who will join Alison on stage have not yet been announced.
