ROLL on September for this year’s Split Festival.
Although organisers of the annual music extravaganza at Ashbrooke Sports Ground are remaining tight-lipped about the Saturday headliner, the Echo revealed earlier this month that The Futureheads, pictured, will close the festival, which they helped to establish, on the Sunday.
Other local acts lined-up to play over the course of the weekend from September 21-23 are The Unthanks, Field Music, Kathryn Williams, Kyla La Grange, This Ain’t Vegas, The Lake Poets, The Cornshed Sisters, Let’s Buy Happiness, Warm Digits, Young Liar, Natasha Haws, The Chapman Family, The Greeting Committee, That F*****g Tank, John J Presley, Richard Dawson, Lilliput, The Unit Ama, The Real Davina and Algiers.
A second wave of acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
Advance tickets are £25 a day or £40 for the weekend.
For the first time, Split is introducing an under 18s and student ticket price of £17.50 a day, or £30 for the weekend. In keeping with its family-friendly policy, under 11s will go free.
Tickets are on sale now from www.splitfestival.com.
