GATSBY is three this week.
The popular watering hole is celebrating three years in the city and they want everyone to come down and join in the bank holiday weekend celebrations.
To mark the occasion the bar is once again re-inventing itself with a new terrace being built on the first floor and they are revamping their cocktail menu.
Owner Karen Dickman can’t believe the time has passed so quickly, but she’s loved every minute and said: “When we started it was a difficult time for businesses and it still is, but we’ve tried to appeal to all the different age groups and, importantly, keep the quality and high standards – it’s worked for us.
“We want to encourage people to stay in Sunderland instead of going to Newcastle and by keeping our bar fresh and different, we will hopefully achieve that.
“Fingers crossed the terrace will bring people in, it’s a lovely spot even just to sit on a morning and have a coffee – you can watch the world go by.”
She added: “This weekend is a celebration of three successful years and we want all our regulars and new customers to come along and join us.
“There will be lots going on including different DJs playing a variety of music to suit everyone’s taste.”
