CONGRATULATIONS to Jo and Vinny Wareham.
The couple tied the knot over the bank holiday weekend at Ramside Hall – and what a fantastic day it was.
My best friend Lisa took me along as her guest, as her husband is working away. So my name for the day became Trev!
Although I must point out that I didn’t just randomly turn up to the wedding of someone I don’t know, I used to work with Jo at my former job, and had been invited to the night-time due.
Jo looked absolutely stunning in her Grecian-style wedding gown, her bridesmaids wore beautiful turquoise gowns and the groom, his best man and ushers looked very dapper indeed.
After the couple were wed, all the guests were treated to a free bar before enjoying a delicious five-course meal, which included soup, lamb with seasonal vegetables and a selection of mini desserts.
The father-of-the-bride’s speech brought a tear to my eye as he toasted his “little girl” and wished her luck in her new future with Vinny.
The best man’s speech had everyone rolling with laughter when he put on a hard hat with a ponytail stuck to the back - a joke on Vinny’s behalf for the ponytail he used to sport when he was younger and working on the building sites.
Guests were also treated to performances by a saxophonist and magician Paul Lytton, and both were top drawer.
I couldn’t believe me eyes when Paul took a £20 note off me, pierced a hole through it with a pencil, folded it up and handed it back to me, asking me to open it up. When I did, there was no hole.
As the day turned into night, more guests started to flock to Ramside Hall and Lisa and I boogied on the dance floor along with everyone else. It was a top day, so here’s to Vinny and Jo.
