DJ Nicola Bear is bringing a taste of the White Isle to Wearside.
Fresh from a summer spent manning the decks at Ibiza Rocks, she’ll be performing a Robot club night takeover at Independent, in Holmeside.
Saturday night’s set, which takes place from 11pm, kicks off Nicola’s residency at the bar.
Clubbers can expect tunes from a summer of sell-out shows at the world’s most revered club night, which she juggled with performances at Benacassim and Creamfields.
Not content with time off before her final shows at the Ibiza Rocks closing party and Unknown Festival, she’ll be bringing her encyclopaedic musical mix of indie, hip-hop, rock, dubstep and drum ‘n’ bass to Sunderland.
As well as appearing at massive live events for both Radio 1 and Radio 1Xtra, past artists that Nicola has warmed up for include The Prodigy, Biffy Clyro, The Specials, Calvin Harris, The Kooks, Madness and Tinie Tempah, and she’s DJ’ed alongside Boys Noize, Pendulum and Fake Blood.
Meanwhile, fresh from winning an AIM Award this week, Frankie & the Heartstrings will host a lounge takeover on the night, spinning tracks from their own personal collection that reflect their musical influences.
