TOM Jones showed that, even at the grand age of 72, he still has what it takes to wow a crowd when he performed in Durham last weekend.
The Welsh crooner was at Durham County Cricket Club to perform a concert which spanned the decades of his illustrious career.
With the Welsh flag flying high above the crowd, he showered the crowd with hits including Green Green Grass of Home, Delilah and Leave Your Hat On as well as tracks from new album Spirit in the Room.
Perhaps as a result of his recent appearance as a judge on The Voice, the crowd was a mixture of young fans and sex bomb stalwarts.
Sue Swinney from Herrington was amongst the revellers.
She said: “He was very, very good, although there didn’t seem to be much interaction with the crowd ,which I was a bit disappointed by.
“He was very charismatic on stage though, he has a fabulous voice.
“I was busy taking pictures, but my friend informs me that there were a couple of pairs of Bridget Jones-style knickers thrown at him.”
