Tomorrow, Independent’s summer of £1 gigs continues, with a heavyweight line-up of the best guitar bands the North East has to offer.

The Generals, pictured right, headline Independent’s Room 2, with support from Purple Groove, Built Like a Gun and The White Elephant Band guaranteeing a night of big riffs, beefy bass and top indie-rock tunes, for just a quid.

Fans of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Oasis are in for a treat, as The Generals continue their rise to prominence on the country’s rock scene.

The quartet have taken and perfected their Brit Pop influences over the past few years, during which time they’ve been invited to perform at the world-famous Cavern Club, in Liverpool, and The Roundhouse in Camden Town.

In addition, successful gigs at The Bonded Warehouse and Independent led to them to being invited to play at the Split Festival in September 2010.

In front of their largest ever audience the lads wowed the crowd and since have attracted a much wider fan base and new management. The Generals, Purple Grooves, Built Like a Gun and The White Elephant Band at Room 2, Independent, Holmeside, takes place from 8pm tomorrow.

Tickets are £1 on the door.
