MUSICAL scholars will take their talents to one of the region’s most iconic venues for a one-off performance.

More than 50 students from Sunderland College will appear at the Sage’s Hall Two in Gateshead in ‘Take it to the Bridge’, which they have helped organise and devise. It will feature six mini-shows and culminates in an ambitious finale with special guests.

The students are on a range of courses, including A-Level, BTEC and foundation degree programmes, and have been planning the concert for three months as part of a practical assessment.

Final year foundation degree student Alex Wade, 19, is project managing the show.

She said: “I am feeling very excited about the performance as the music department has a team of excellent musicians ready to put on a great show. Sage Gateshead is a beautiful venue and will be an amazing experience for the students who are not used to large scale performances.”

Take it to the Bridge will be performed on Thursday, April 2, at 7pm. Tickets are £11.50, available via www.sagegateshead.com.
