REMEMBER the heady days of Chambers?
A reunion for the former nightclub, which once stood in High Street West, is taking place at Illusions in Holmeside on December 12.
There will be two rooms of music to celebrate the club, which covered three decades of sounds.
The reunion night follows a Facebook petition, signed by 1,200 people, to relive the club’s glory days.
Chambers was the first club in Sunderland to broadcast live on a radio station when it shared its music with Kiss FM.
It also gave top DJs including Judge Jules, Danny Rampling, Alex P, Brandon Block, Graeme Park and Farley Jackmaster Funk their Sunderland debut.
All of the DJs on the night are former residents of the original Chambers and will be playing all the tunes that made the club one of the biggest and well known in the North East.
Drinks served on the night will also be reminiscent of Chambers, such as Breaker, Red Stripe and Chambers’ old cocktail list.
Room One will celebrate the 1988-1995 era and will be headlined by Smoove from Smoove and Turrell, with an exclusive 1989 soul DJ set. Other DJs who will take to the decks are Ian Wright, Phil Rodgers and Liam Carty.
Meanwhile, Room Two will focus on old skool house and trance with sets from John Shaw, Michael Lane and Mark Hansen, aka Sparky.
The event will raise money for local charity Hope4Kidz.
*Doors open at 8.30pm with £2 entry before 10pm and £6 afterwards.
