THESE rock fans were among the first to get their mitts on hot tickets for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Music lovers queued throughout the night on Thursday to ensure their place at the rock legends’ gig at the Stadium of Light on June 24.
On Tuesday, the Echo revealed that the city was chosen to stage one of only two UK dates the band will play next year due to its success with concerts by big names including Take That, Kings of Leon and Oasis.
Up to 56,000 fans from across Britain are expected to attend the show, which will plough millions of pounds into the city’s economy.
