The region’s biggest event for emerging music takes place this Saturday.
Sunderland act The Lake Poets are among the 40 artists taking to the stage at Evolution Emerging, which takes place across nine venues in Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley.
Other acts for 2014 include Bridie Jackson and The Arbour and Boy Jumps Ship.
Now in its sixth year, Evolution Emerging has unearthed countless artists from the North East and beyond, with notable performances from Lanterns on the Lake, Mausi, Beth Jeans Houghton and the Hooves of Destiny, We Are Knuckle Dragger and Lulu James
Joe Frankland, Artist Development Manager at Generator, who run the event, said: “Evolution Emerging 2014 is shaping up to be our best event yet. Our headliners will be fresh from releases and tours, we have a few Tipping Point artists fresh from Liverpool Sound City and The Great Escape, and all of our artists have been busy – getting together in April for Generator’s Artist Development Masterclass Day and plotting some great surprises on the day.
“Our Aftershow party is close to selling out and we’re also using new venue The Tower for the first time. Needless to say, we can’t wait to bring so much new music to the Ouseburn Valley.”
Tickets are selling fast and Generator have announced an exclusive advanced ticket bundle for those buying tickets in advance through MusicGlue, with 27 free downloads from Evolution Emerging 2014 artists.
Advanced £3 gig tickets and £5 gig and aftershow tickets are available now at evolutionemerging.com and at the Cluny in Ouseburn.
