MOONRUNNERS hope their latest track will prove an out-of-this-world success.

The four-piece Sunderland band, who were named as Student Band of the Year 2012 by student website Student Beans, have released Turn It Around.

Available now to purchase and download on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, HMVDigital, Play.com and BandCamp, Turn It Around is the latest track to showcase the band’s indie/rock sound.

The band, three of which are studying music at Sunderland University, have already been catching the attention of the film industry with their music appearing in a number of low budget independent movies.

This latest single is viewed as being the band’s most commercially appealing track to date.

Lead guitarist Nathan Hughes says the song is: “a reflection of how we felt when we started writing the track, our experiences to date in getting noticed and what we must do to progress in a crowded industry. That aside we’re pleased with the end result, a commercially appealing track that we hope will be of interest to many.”

Signed to independent record label Satellite Records based in Teesside, the band have successfully supported a number of up and coming artists as well as established bands such as McFly, Bow Wow Wow, Shaun Ryder, No Lights At Lockdown, Tom Hingley, Bleech, Martin Stephenson & The Daintees, BenPoole and The Duel.
