ONE Direction will play to a full house on the opening night of the UK leg of their “Where We Are” 2014 World Tour, with standard tickets for the Stadium of Light show now sold out.
The show will kick off the 2014 summer concert season at the home of Sunderland AFC in style – and exciting news is coming soon regarding further gigs for next year.
Following the finalising of the stage set up and sight lines for technical equipment, additional tickets were released for the show and these have been snapped up by excited fans. An audience of over 55,000 is now set to welcome Harry, Zayn, Liam, Niall and Louis to Wearside on Wednesday 28th May, 2014.
A small number of hospitality packages remain available, providing the perfect Christmas gift any fan. Prices start from £145 per person, including a guaranteed seat for the must-see show. Sunderland’s Stadium of Light is one of only four UK venues to host the tour – along with Manchester’s Ethiad Stadium, Murrayfield in Edinburgh and Wembley Stadium, London.
The band’s new album “Midnight Memories’ was released earlier this week and is set to become the fast-selling album of 2013.
SAFC Commercial Director, Gary Hutchinson, said: “The demand of this show has been absolutely phenomenal. One Direction are by far the biggest boyband in the world and for the Stadium of Light to be chosen to host the opening night of the UK leg of their world tour is a fantastic statement of support for both the venue and the city.
“This will be a fantastic start to our summer season of concerts and we are looking forward to the announcement of more shows soon.”
With only a small number of hospitality packages remaining fans are advised to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
