LOLA Saunders has been revealed as a wildcard act on The X Factor.
The 20-year-old, from East Boldon, is still in the running for the top prize after being brought back on tonight’s show.
Lola, who works at Whitburn fishmongers Latimer’s, was thrown a lifeline after being sent home by Cheryl Fernandez-Versini at the judges’ houses stage of the ITV talent contest.
But tonight, she made a triumphant return as it was announced she was chosen out of the rejected acts to make it to the live shows.
In previous years, each judge has selected an act from their own category to save, but this year, responsibilty fell on groups mentor Louis Walsh to choose which of the girls to bring back to the show, which is hosted by Dermot O’Leary.
Now, Lola will perform each week in the hope of making it to the final and scooping a recording contract.
On tonight’s show, which had a number ones theme, she sang Sam Smith’s Stay With Me.
Tune in to ITV1 at 8.15pm tomorrow to find out if Lola will advance to the second week of live shows.
