A colourful jazz band will be bringing the smooth sound of hot club to Murton, County Durham.
Djangologie, who take the original spirit of the genre and breathe new life into it, will take to the stage at The Glebe on May 30.
The four-piece will be performing a fusion of time-honoured 1930s hot club classics and gypsy jazz originals.
They’ve teamed up with Seaham Music Academy for the concert in a bid to make live music accessible and affordable to local people
A spokesman from the academy said: “One of Djangologie’s members, Emma Fisk, has helped us in the past and she approached us to tell us of the Jazz North subsidy available to support her group’s concerts.
“It is not often that Seaham and the surrounding district has the opportunity to enjoy top-drawer live music so we thought we would help to promote this concert. We are very excited to be involved in this project and hope that, apart from providing a lively night of unforgettable music, we can make more people in the vicinity aware of our academy.”
l Tickets for Djangologie at The Glebe, Durham Place, Murton, on Friday, May 30 are £5, which includes a pie and pea supper. They are available from The Glebe on 520 8650 or by ringing/texting 07984 959848.
