ALTERNATIVE rockers Screaming Maldini will unveil tracks from their forthcoming debut album with a high-pitched set in Sunderland.

The Sheffield six-piece will take to the stage at Pure in Olive Street on Sunday.

Hailed for their innovative arrangements, the band came together after honing their skills in previous outfits.

Screaming Maldini comprises Nick Cox on lead vocals and guitar, Gina Walters on synth and percussion, bassist and backing singer Annie Rushworth, the keyboards of Jonathan Cornish, the brass of Ben Hoblyn (along with more synths) and Tim Walker’s time keeping on drums.

Over the last two years they have built a good reputation thanks to their penchant for pioneering noises including LP track Summer, Somewhere and their acoustic YouTube cover of Outkast’s Hey Ya!

As such, there’s some anticipation as to what their eponymous debut album, Screaming Maldini, released on March 4, will bring.
