BRIT Award-winners Franz Ferdinand will take to the stage in Sunderland for the first time in the latest coup for a city centre creative hub.
The indie rock group will perform a 30-minute, semi-acoustic set live in-store at Pop Recs Ltd next month after hearing about the shop’s ethos of bringing quality music and arts to Sunderland city centre.
The gig will be somewhat of a homecoming for lead singer Alex Kapranos, who grew up in Sunderland and South Shields before moving to Glasgow and launching a successful music career.
Franz Ferdinand will take to the stage at 5.30pm on Thursday, March 27.
Advance tickets will be available for £2.50 from Pop Recs Ltd – proof of benefits required – from 10am on Saturday.
General sale tickets, priced £5, will be available from 10am on Monday. All tickets will be issued on a first come, first served basis from the store.
