THE last batch of tickets are on sale for a performance to recognise the work of the armed forces.
Finchale College in Durham is working in partnership with ABF The Soldiers’ Charity to host a musical concert at the Gala Theatre in the city to celebrate its 70th birthday.
The college opened in 1943 as a rehabilitation centre for injured servicemen and has provided help and support for the armed forces community for 70 years.
The Salute Our Heroes Concert, which takes place on Saturday will be an evening of music and proms, narrated by the voice of The Royal Military Edinburgh Tattoo Alasdair Hutton.
It will also feature military bands and singers Alison Cochlan, John Rowland and Julie Pendleton. All funds raised from the evening will go to Finchale and ABF The Soldiers’ Charity to help veterans in need across the UK. Tickets for the event are £18 and £15 for concessions. Tickets, including pre-concert black tie reception, are £35.
