THE Chapel Club are offering two gigs for the price of one at Sunderland’s Independent.

The touring Londoners have chosen to split their set, starting with entirely new material from their forthcoming second album, before featuring songs from Palace, the band’s 2010 debut recording.

The Chapel Club – who will be supported by Clock Opera – have spoken about a desire to reinvent their sound for the follow-up to Palace.

Frontman Lewis Bowman said: “We all have a lot of love for the songs on Palace and we love that so many people have taken them to their hearts.

“But when we wrote them we were still learning how to write songs together. Now we have a bit more experience, we’re better able to explore the possibilities.

“Everything feels freer and fresher and more relaxed and more exciting; hopefully the new songs reflect that.”

Find out for yourselves at Independent, on Holmeside, next Wednesday). Tickets priced £10.50 (plus booking fees) are available at www.seetickets.com.
