Gabriela and Monica shot to fame with their hit Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum) after appearing on Chanel 4 show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.

Now the Romanian twins are on the hunt for a North East starlet to perform with them on a single as they bid for the coveted Christmas number one.

Auditionees at the Sunderland talent search will also sing before Cheesy FM's Saturday Night Dance Mix presenter, Steve Evans, and a special guest judge.

Heat one takes place on Sunday, July 17, followed by further auditions, on July 31, and August 14, with a grand finale on August 28.

The events all start at 3pm and run until 8pm, and also feature live performances from the Cheeky Girls, and lots of Cheeky fun and frolics for a great family atmosphere.

Tickets - priced at £5 - are available from www.CheekyPop.co.uk

Admission for contestants is free and children under 10 also go free, when accompanied by a full paying adult.

The Cheeky Girls will also be at the B&M store in Washington on Saturday, July 16, signing autographs and posing for photos.
