DIE-HARD Twilight fans sat through a bum-numbing Twi-athlon.
Empire Cinema in Sunniside hosted back-to-back screenings of the first three films in the saga, followed by the new instalment of the franchise which opened in cinemas at midnight on Thursday.
The new film, Breaking Dawn Part 1, focuses on newly-weds Edward, played by Robert Pattinson, and Bella, Kristen Stewart, who marry and have their first child. But the arrival of their daughter sparks a fearsome chain of events.
The much-anticipated film is based on the final Twilight book by Stephenie Meyer.
To meet demand, the cinema in Sunderland is showing 20 screenings of the film a day.
