PSYCHOLOGICAL thriller The Boy Next Door is sexy and exciting.

Jennifer Lopez gives a stunning performance as schoolteacher Claire, who lives with her teenage son, Kevin (Ian Nelson).

They’ve been alone for nine months, ever since Claire discovered her husband, Garrett (John Corbett) was having an affair.

During the summer holidays, handsome 19-year-old Noah (Ryan Guzman) moves in next door to look after his ailing great uncle.

In her vulnerable state and in a moment of unexpected passion, Claire sleeps with Noah, but immediately regrets her actions.

Noah, however, believes they are in love and isn’t willing to let her go.

We’ve all had that ex that we just can’t seem to shake, but hopefully we’ll never have one like this.

As school begins, Noah – a transfer from another school – finds a way to wangle his way into her English class and into her home life, threatening to expose what they’ve done if she won’t be with him.

As he becomes more and more obsessed, Claire becomes increasingly worried for her safety and that of her son and husband.

The thriller is completely gripping and exciting and the tension builds and builds into a dramatic climax.

We’ve all had that ex that we just can’t seem to shake, but hopefully we’ll never have one like this.

Guzman is completely terrifying in the role and the more we find out about his character, the scarier he becomes.

You’ll have to peek through your fingers at parts, because you’ll be too frightened to watch.

You’ll never look at that sexy boy next door in the same way again.
