Gone are the days when the cop movie genre was dominated by muscly men – it’s all about the girls now.

Reese Witherspoon is fiercely funny in her latest flick Hot Pursuit.

She stars alongside the painfully-sexy Sofía Vergara in this hilarious and outrageous buddy comedy.

By-the-book cop Cooper (Witherspoon) is assigned – simply because she’s a woman – to help escort sassy widow Daniella Riva (Vergara) across Texas to give evidence at the trial of a drug baron.

They end up fighting for their lives as they’re chased down by crooked cops and deadly gunmen.

The pair are just fantastic together. Their characters are so dramatically different and constantly clash, supplying lots of chuckles for the audience.

Hot Pursuit delivers plenty of comedy capers and laugh out loud moments as the pair – branded a danger and wanted by the police – flee for their lives.

The film is fun, fast-paced and funny throughout.

The story of unlikely friendship is probably aimed a little more towards women, but the lads can enjoy it too, and they definitely won’t get sick of watching the sexy co-stars as they scrap with each other at every turn.

Witherspoon and Vergara are doing it for the girls and proving we can kick just as much bad guy butt as the guys can.
