Seven Sunderland Restaurant Week deals to tickle your tastebuds

Food lovers have proven there's a huge appetite for Sunderland Restaurant Week after signing up for second helpings.

The event – organised by Sunderland BID – starts this Saturday (March 11) and was organised after the success of a similar event held last autumn.

More than 2500 vouchers to visit city restaurants and take advantage of a whole host of special offers have already been downloaded, beating the total number used last time round.

Restaurants, cafes and bars across the city and beyond are supporting the initiative, with many offering special menus with two courses for £10 and three for £15.

To mark the event we’ve rounded up seven of the top Restaurant Week deals.

•Divino Pizzeria, Burdon Road

With pizzas to rival the size of the slices in New York City, Divino’s makes freshly made mains and homemade cakes daily.

Located next to music venue Independent, Holmeside Coffee has been serving up fine cups of coffee (and cake!) since 2013. More recently, it has introduced a range of breakfasts and lunches, which in the past have included sky-high pastrami sandwiches and salmon and cream cheese bagels.
