THE stars of Strictly Come Dancing are waltzing into Wearside.
Fast-footed Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace are bringing the Sunderland stage to life all week with their sizzling dance moves.
Since leaving the hit show, the pair have gone on to have huge success with their own touring shows.
Their latest production, Dance ‘Til Dawn, sees them celebrate the golden age of Hollywood and features dances including Argentine tango, Charleston, quickstep and waltzes.
The former world champions, who have danced together for 20 years, have performed to more than half a million people on tour since their first show, Midnight Tango, in 2010.
Vincent said: “We did Midnight Tango, which was obviously very focused on the tango, but this is more varied, from swing through to cha cha cha to quickstep.
“It’s set in the ’40s, which goes with the glamour of the story, we have gangsters and a film set.
“The story is about the filming of a movie, and we see things behind the scenes with the protagonist.
“We have an amazing cast, and a great story. I remember first reading the story and thinking ‘how will we tell this through dance?’ Me and Flavia looked through our repertoire and chose songs in relation to the story.
“There are modern songs as well. It all fits beautifully under one umbrella.”
Music featured in the show includes Feeling Good, Moon River and Stand By Me.
