THE hunt is on for Sunderland’s own Tiny Tim.
The stage is set for Sunderland Theatre Company’s production of Christmas Carol The Musical.
But there’s one problem - the production is missing a pint-sized star.
Bosses at the company are looking for a little boy to play the Dickensian role this December.
They are also searching for budding theatre stars to play Tim’s brother and sisters, Peter, Martha and Belinda, as well as children to appear in the chorus.
Derek Crooks, chairman of Sunderland Theatre Company, said: “We are looking for enthusiastic young people to perform who have confidence.
“They don’t need any previous acting experience, just a willingness to perform.
“It’s a great opportunity for them.”
Potential performers should be aged five to 12 and be under 5ft tall.
The show will be held at Sandhill View School from December 4-6.
Any children interested in appearing in the show in any of the available roles are invited to a workshop on Sunday, September 7.
The workshop will be at Deptford and Millfield Community Centre in Hylton Road.
Derek added: “The workshop will involve a singing session where the children will be taught a song. There will also be a fun acting session with the aim of identifying any star youngsters for our principal roles.”
