CREATIVE gurus are relaunching a craft fair to promote the best of the region’s talents.
Amanda Bell, mum Yvonne, 47, and friend Hannah Lennox have organised a craft day at Sunderland Minster.
The event, which will take place on March 1, will give people the opportunity to display items they have made – including tables made out of suitcases, jewellery and clothing, for a reasonable price.
Amanda said: “I started it because I have always been into vintage and crafts and the prices were just extorionate to take part in other fairs.
“When people hear craft fair they think it’s just going to be people selling old cards and jewellery, but it’s not at all.”
The 21-year-old, from Peterlee, who is in her final year at Sunderland University studying fine art, is relaunching Miss Manda Vintage and Craft Fair after taking a break last year.
Age UK, which has a vintage shop in Sunderland Minster, is also getting involved and running a stall selling collectables, clothing and homeware. There will be 26 traders from across the North East taking part in the day.
Amanda added: “Everyone at the Minster is really great. They are really trying to get people involved and do more things in the community.”
