BEST friends have done the double after making it through to the next round of a national talent contest.

Ten-year-olds Jacee Pink and Mia Carney impressed judges of Teenstar as they sung their song of choice at an audition.

The soloists have now progressed through to the regional heat of the challenge and will return to the Volvo Mill Tyne Theatre in Newcastle on Saturday, March 22, for the North East semi-finals.

East Herrington Primary Academy pupil Jacee, from Humbledon, will perform a track by Rihanna, while Mia, who attends Farringdon Academy and lives nearby, will sing a song by Adele.

The girls were accompanied to the auditions by Jacee’s mum Amy, 33, and Mia’s mum Ashley, 40.

Amy said: “Mia’s mam was really distressed on the day because all the others were coming out crying their eyes out because they hadn’t got through.

“Then Mia did and she was so pleased.

“For me, Jacee did so well on the day.”

The final of the talent show will be held in London.
