A CELEBRATED Sunderland blues man has been recording tracks in a world-famous LA studio.

Trevor Sewell has joined the ranks of musicians including Frank Sinatra and Willy Nelson, by recording at Capitol Records.

He dropped into the studio while in Hollywood to pick up an award at The Indie Music Channel Awards, the fifth time he has been awarded a music gong in America, before going to an exclusive party.

Trevor, from Millfield, said: “It was great. We had a fantastic time and I got to meet and play with a lot of the LA music fraternity.”

The Indie Music Channel Awards took place at the legendary Whisky a Go-Go on the Sunset Strip, where Trevor played music from his Independence album.

He was also inducted to the American Heritage Blues Hall of Fame. Closer to home, album track The Train has been nominated in the British Blues Awards, where Trevor is nominated in three categories: Best Song, Best Album and the joint Songwriter Award.
