WASHINGTON singer Jamie Lambert, pictured centre, has landed his first number one with his band Collabro.
The five-piece group – who were crowned Britain’s Got Talent winners earlier this year – ended solo star Ed Sheeran’s eight-week reign at the top of the album charts on Sunday.
The success of the album – called Stars – caps off an incredible few months for the group.
Jamie’s mum Lorraine Lambert is chief executive of South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust, who said his success was “phenomenal”.
She added: “We are all just overwhelmed by it. Six months ago they got together, they found a sound that worked, then they went on Britain’s Got Talent and won.
“Now the album has gone to No1.
“They are all working so hard, they haven’t had time to really think about everything that’s happened to them.”
