CHART-TOPPERS will entertain the crowds at this year’s Sunderland Pride.
Organisers of Sunderland’s annual celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community have released the line-up of acts that will perform at this year’s event on Sunday, September 28.
Topping the bill this year will be Booty Luv who’ve enjoyed five top twenty hits including Boogie 2nite and Shine.
Also performing will be Nicki French who sold more than five million copies of her hit Total Eclipse of the Heart.
Joining the national acts on stage will be local groups Raw Boyband and Miss Demeanour.
North-East duo Diva, who appeared on series two of The Voice, will also entertain the crowds.
The event also sees the return of two drag legends in the North East, Ophelia B and Miss Trixie, who will host this year’s Main Stage entertainment, with music from award winning DJ, Matt Nevin.
Ryan Houston, from Sunderland Pride, said: “This year’s line-up really is our strongest yet. It shows the fact that we’ve listened to the feedback provided by the community that we work for and we hope for an incredibly successful event in 2014.”
Sunderland Pride is celebrating its fourth year this year. Since launching, it has earned a number of award nominations including being short-listed in our recent Excellence Awards in the Community Event of the Year category.
l Sunderland Pride will take place on September 28, starting at noon from the Civic Centre with the annual Pride Parade through the city, with entertainment in Park Lane from 1pm.
