Hi again, I hope you've had a great week. If you won the 4.4 million it was a fantastic week and of course there's the 100 million Euromillions too.
I wonder whether you saw the picture on Thursday of me with Jill from The National Glassworks with the specially commissioned orb which will go to the big winner. I got a call from the National Lottery people to see whether I would like to add the finishing touches to the piece.
Having (shock horror) never had the chance to visit the centre in Sunderland, I jumped at the chance. And if you have never visited can I recommend it, particularly on a cold winters day. As fuel prices are rising get along there and warm up as the brilliant Jill and her team demonstrate making their brilliant artworks.

Full of hot air - our very own Steve
The ovens/kilns go up to temperatures of 1300F and it is amazing how the staff can work there in such warm surroundings. Hot place to go in more ways than one with a Euromillions winner somewhere in the 9 European countries taking part will get to know about the place after receiving the unique momento which I helped to blow.
I was at the Chelsea v Manure game last Saturday but was more interested in who I saw at the Underground station after the match.
If you watched The Manageress a few years back or in fact used to watch adverts for coffee, you'll know who Cherie Lunghi is. I found it really strange that after seeing her last weekend she was then appearing on a local TV show this week talking about her childhood memories of Whitley Bay. I wish I had spoken to her last week to get a further quote as I wasn't aware of her local connection.
Then strangely someone else, who you may recall I saw at Silverstone at the British Grand Prix, was on our TV's filming locally: Jodie Kidd the statuesque model who's Grandfather was Lord Beaverbrook was the subject of this weeks "Who do you think you are". Her Great Grandfather on the other side had been knighted for his services to shipbuilding on the Tyne during the First World War. Or so she thought.
He had been disgraced by hoarding huge amounts of food at his palatial Coxlodge Hall whilst us mere minions were surviving on rations. He headed off South to Kent and resurfaced 3 years later after giving Lloyd George 5,000 for a Knighthood. Cash for honours all thoise years ago!!!! I wanted Jodie to start singing that famous ditty "Lloyd George knew my Great Grandfather" But she wasn't about to burst into song after discovering that he although had provided incredibly well for the War effort but was obviously a bit of a bounder.
I've mentioned here before that I've been going through my ancestry and this week discovered that one of my Great great's was listed on one of the Census's as being a "Shipowner" from Tynemouth, subsequently he was doing manual work in South Shields. I'd like to think he had been disgraced in similar way – er.. hoarding fish maybe.
Well I hope you have a good week. I've developed a cold and therefore will be spending the weekend tucked up trying to throw it off.
I know, men are wusses, but after not having a cold for 5 years it really is hurting me…….hang on………… Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaashoooooo! Oops sorry all over you!!!
