Guy, aided by legs of 18, 20 and 16 darts, led 3-2, with the first five legs going with the throw. He looked on course for the win when he broke Rose’s throw in the sixth leg, but Rose broke straight back and a 15-darter, including a 120 checkout, made the scores level again at 4-4.
A 17-darter in the next secured Guy of at least a point before Rose hit a 100 and two 140s as he levelled the tie to share the points.
