REIGNING Division One Table Tennis champions Thompson Insurance A eased their way to an emphatic 10–0 win over rivals St Chad’s to maintain their unbeaten start to the season and leapfrog the Saints to go top of the league.

Thompsons were just simply too strong for the Saints on the night, despite some excellent individual performances from Scope, Bissett and Adam Curran.

St Gabriel’s A had a 6–4 victory over Redby CA A.

George Gibson was unbeaten for the Saints as he played some very controlled table tennis.

Gibson was closely supported by team-mate Tom Bainbridge (2) with the two combining to take the doubles to secure the win and a share of the points.

Ken Tweedy had a very good win over Tom Bainbridge. Frank Booth was narrowly defeated in his set against Bainbridge and Amanda Paxton played in her usual attacking style but failed to win.

Sacriston St Bede’s A reinforced their lead at the top of Division Two with an excellent 8–2 victory over Silksworth IM B.
