TRANSFER TALK: Argentinian Al-Ain winger Ignacio Scocco linked with Sunderland move

ARGENTINE winger Ignacio Scocco is the latest foreign import to be linked with a move to Sunderland.

The Black Cats have struck deals for Bosman signings Valentin Roberge, Modibo Diakite and Cabral so far this summer, albeit the trio are unlikely to be confirmed until their contracts expire at the end of the month.

Argentine left-back Lucas Orban is thought to be on Sunderland’s radar and his fellow countryman Scocco is now rumored to be attracting interest from the Wearsiders.

Reports in South America suggest Sunderland will hold talks with the agent of Scocco tomorrow, as the 28-year-old looks for a move away from United Arab Emirates outfit Al-Ain – the club of former Black Cats frontman Asamoah Gyan.

Scocco has spent the campaign on loan with Argentine outfit Newell’s Old Boys, where he has netted an impressive 27 goals in 36 games.

But Scocco would have to take a HUGE pay-cut to move to the Stadium of Light, rather than moving to the Middle East.

The one-time Argentina international is reportedly paid around £60,000 a week at Al-Ain, which would be far in excess of anything Sunderland would be willing to pay.
