SUNDERLAND have made their first signing of the January transfer window after sealing a deal for Alfred N’Diaye.
N’Diaye today put the final touches to a three-and-a-half year deal at the Stadium of Light and will wear the number four shirt after moving from Turkish outfit Bursaspor.
The fee for the French Under-21 international has not been disclosed, but it is understood that Sunderland have paid just under £4million for the 6ft 2in midfielder.
Sunderland boss Martin O’Neill said: “Alfred is a strong, powerful young player and as such can offer us more strength in depth.
“He will give us options and I’m delighted that we have been able to bring him to the club.”
N’Diaye spent 18 months in Turkey after moving from French outfit Nancy for £2.5m in the summer of 2011.
The Parisian made 37 appearances for Bursaspor and has featured seven times for France U21s.
