Graham was determined to sign for Sunderland

DANNY GRAHAM insists the Stadium of Light boo-boys had NO bearing on his determination to join Sunderland.
Boyhood Newcastle fan Graham was given a hostile reception by a minority of supporters just two days before joining Sunderland when the then Swansea striker was introduced from the bench in last week’s stalemate between the two clubs.
But the boos didn’t prevent the 27-year-old completing a £5million deadline day switch to Wearside and there was a much more positive reaction from the travelling supporters at Reading last Saturday.
Graham, in line to make his home debut for Sunderland in this weekend’s visit of Arsenal, said today: “The reception was great at Reading.
“Obviously the one on Tuesday night was expected for myself.
“That’s part and parcel of football, I just got on with it.
“But it never once put me off in terms of wanting to move here.
“The contrast with the reception I got at the Madejski Stadium was brilliant.
“I’d signed and everything was done and to get that reception was really pleasing.
“I’m just looking forward to having a successful end of the season.”
