Two reasons for Sunderland fans to be happy - Cats legend
Among the encouraging signs for Sunderland so far this season are the displays of Kenwyne Jones up front and Paul McShane at the back.
Jones I think, is going to be a big player for Sunderland this season in every sense of the word.
People praised his performance when he scored on his home debut in the 2-1 win over Reading but I thought his display against Arsenal was in a higher class altogether.
And his form could be crucial in the games ahead when Sunderland will be looking to regularly pick up points.
Maybe equally as important will be Paul McShane who has been rock-like since the start of the season.
What a shame that he got sent off in the dying seconds at the Emirates for a badly-timed tackle.
It wasn't as if he sacrificed himself to stop a certain goal or preserve an away point just a clumsy tackle near the half-way line.
It means he misses three games now.
And one of the most frustrating things for a manager must be having a key player who is as fit as a fiddle sitting in the stands behind you because you're prevented from using him.
