Terriers' fightback scuppers Pools
Hartlepool United suffered their first league defeat in six games after they were unable to cope with the onslaught from Huddersfield Town today.
Chris Turner's men led for almost 40 minutes after Gary Liddle headed them in front with his first goal of the season.
The turning point of the game arrived two minutes after Liddle's goal when Adam Boyd's header was cleared off the line.
Huddersfield piled on the pressure in the final stages of the first half and the attacking waves continued from the Terriers in a second 45 minutes which the hosts controlled.
The equaliser was a fortunate one when Anthony Pilkington's free-kick crashed off the post, rebounded off Peter Hartley and into the Pools goal.
Left-back Robbie Williams grabbed the winner when he was allowed to surge inside and plant a shot beyond Scott Flinders.
Pools rarely looked like getting an equaliser with Huddersfield continuing to attack in search of a third.
