Sunderland and England star back on Wearside
Former Sunderland favourite Colin Todd will relive some old memories and give his views about current events in football when he returns to Wearside tomorrow.
Chester-le-Street-born Todd, who rose through the youth ranks to make 191 appearances for Sunderland between September 1966 and February 1971 – when he was controversially sold to Derby – is guest speak of the Sunderland AFC Senior Supporters Association at the Stadium of Light tomorrow (1.30pm).
Ken Barker, of the Association, said: "It would be interesting to see what price would be on Colin Todd's head in today's market because he was a great player and went on to achieve great things."
The ex-centre-back twice won the league title with Brian Clough's Derby and was the PFA Player of the Year in 1975. He won 27 England caps and later managed clubs including Middlesbrough, Bolton, Swindon and Bradford.
All members are welcome at tomorrow's meeting and anyone interested in joining the Senior Supporters Association can also go along.
