Pools hunt Kyle loan
Hartlepool United manager Danny Wilson is ready to end ex-Sunderland striker Kevin Kyle's misery at Coventry City.
The Echo understands the Pools boss has made an enquiry to take Kyle to Victoria Park on loan as he looks to add some beef to his forward line.
The former Scotland cap has fallen well down the pecking order at the Ricoh Arena after an already frosty reception with the Coventry fans disintegrated to breaking point last season.
During a loan stint at Wolves, he made an ill-fated remark to reporters about the Coventry fans which did not go down well when he returned after his loan was not made permanent.
The loan window opened for Football League clubs on Monday, and a move is certainly feasible on personal grounds, with Kyle's young son living in the North East.
The only potential stumbling block could be Kyle's wages – he is among the Sky Blues' biggest earners – but the prospect of regular first-team football may well override any concerns over money.
