Carlos gets the buzz back
Carlos Edwards is renowned for his pace – but he was half-an-hour late for his first Wolves training session.
The Sunderland wingman, who embarked on a three-month loan spell at Molineux last week, was unavoidably delayed and manager Mick McCarthy held up training for 30 minutes until his arrival.
But it proved to be worth the wait, with the wideman dazzling his new team-mates with his speed and energy and, by the time training was over, our sources tell us, the training ground was buzzing.
The Trinidad and Tobago international is convinced he can shine as he bids to return to the Stadium of Light with his reputation for skilful, exciting football restored.
He told the Football Echo: "I'd heard there were a few clubs enquiring about me, but Wolves were the one that really appealed.
"That wasn't just because they are top of the table but also because Mick McCarthy is such a good manager that a lot of players would want to play for.
"Wolves are an ambitious club and this might be a chance for me to get my career back on track."
Edwards played 81 minutes of Wolves' disappointing defeat at Swansea City yesterday - as the Molineux men slipped from top spot.
