IT’S never easy being a Sunderland fan but things recently are testing even the best of us, writes Andy MacDonald.
After the run of games we have had of late, it’s hugely disappointing to see our points tally from these games. You could say we have been unlucky but really you get what you deserve most of the time.
We showed a lot more second half but that doesn’t get away from the fact we were woeful first half, and again gave a team a two-goal headstart. It’s always going to be a struggle coming back from two down in this league and in the end it was just too much for us.
We really need to be turning things round but given the fact we have some top teams in the near future it’s hard to see us picking up many points this month.
I know this isn’t the worst we have had it, but I can’t remember being more disappointed in a Sunderland team.
Going into the season, I felt we had a quality coach, a decent squad and everything to play for. The way it’s going, I would be happy to avoid going down.
