TWO local riders secured top-10 finishes in the Elite, second, third and fourth category National B race in round two of the Gateshead College Circuit Series at the former Nissan track.
Sunderland Clarion’s Craig Stephenson grabbed eighth place and Houghton CC’s Chris Ranson was 10th in a sprint for third place behind a podium of Achieve-Skinnergate Racing’s Colin Humphrey, Ryan Davis (Starley Primal Pro Cycling) and Jack Rees (Achieve-Skinnergate).

H Manila Cyclng’s Greg Booth outsprinted Andrew Scorey (Berwick Wheelers CC) in a bunch finish to take the 3rd/4th category Regional B race, which included paracyclists.
Sunderland Clarion’s Kris Adlington was 10th, leading home a strong Clarion effort which featured a racing debut for Ingrid Shepherd.
Steve Gordon worked hard throughout to help chase down the day’s breakaway, while Colin Dorward and Tom Guy also started for the Clarion.
