ST LEONARD’S kick-started their league campaign with an 8-0 home win over Silksworth Comrades.
Grangetown also bounced back to form by beating Hetton 8-0.
Steels’ 6-2 win over Town End Farm was not as easy as the score suggests.
In the first rink, TEF were trailing by seven shots but only just failed to at least get a draw on the last end.
They were three shots behind and were lying two shots and they hoped that the last wood would earn a point, but it just fell short of the mark.
In the second it was nip and tuck and in the end won 6-4.
On the last rink, Steels were in command of the rink and never let it slip.
Grindon are setting the early pace after two games following their comfortable 6-2 away win over Mitchells.
Farringdon drew 4-4 with Plains Farm. Plainsy just won the first rink 6-5 and in the second rink Farra hit back to win 15-3.
In the last rink, Plains Farm won 13-4. Both teams need to up their games if they are to challenge for the title.
