ANTH Skelton claimed six points this week in Seaham’s Knack Premier League with two much-needed victories.
First up was Martin Price, with Skelton taking out some big checkouts on the way to securing a narrow 5-3 success.
Next up for Skelton was Alan Smith, but a maximum and three 21-dart legs secured another three points in a 5-2 win.
Paul Williams moved into first place as he also claimed six points.
Ray Malarkey was up first for the Wearsider and, despite a much improved display by Malarkey, it was one-way traffic as Williams reeled off five straight legs.
Williams then beat Kevin Guy in a game that everyone was waiting for all night. It did not disapoint.
Williams raced out of the blocks to win the first two legs, but a determined Guy stormed back to win the next three in a dramatic turnaround.
However, Williams wasn’t to be denied, winning the next three legs, including a 180 and an excellent 148 finish.
Graham Mullen came out on top 5-1 against Eddie Ashman, with winning legs in 20, 18, 13, 19 and 20 darts.
Ashman’s solitary leg came in 18 darts, which included his 11th 180 of the season.
Neil Rose defeated Davey Thompson 5-2, while Spiller Henderson comfortably beat Anthony Gale 5-2, with a 20-darter and two 21-dart legs his best.
Jimmy Ashett remains the only unbeaten player after a ruthless 5-0 whitewash of John Squire, which included a 141 checkout for a 15-dart last leg.
John Redpath continues to impress after a fine 5-1 win over Mark Robinson.
Steve Skinner climbed up the table with a 5-1 win over Neil Richardson.
Neil Mather made it four consecutive victories after he beat Barry Rutherford 5-3.
