MURTON’S Neil Mather produced his best result since joining Seaham’s Knack Premier League when he defeated Anth Skelton 5-2.

After Mather raced into a 4-0 lead, Skelton threatened a comeback when he claimed the next two legs, but Mather took the next leg to secure the win.

Kevin Guy showed no mercy when he whitewashed Barry Rutherford.

After a scrappy first leg, Guy moved through the gears as he won the next four legs in 18 (twice), 20 and 19 darts.

Neil Rose’s poor season continued as he made it six games without a win.

This time he let slip a 3-0 lead against newcomer Ronnie Gill, who showed all his old battling qualities as he won four straight legs to move 4-3 ahead.

However, a relieved Rose bounced back to snatch a draw as he won the deciding leg to share the spoils in a 4-4 draw.

Eddie Ashman hit his 18th maximum of the season as he fought off a spirited display from Neil Richardson.

After sharing the first four legs, Ashman showed his class as he pulled clear to win the next three legs, clinching the win in style as he hit the bull in a 86 checkout.

Anthony Gale and Eddie Guy were involved in a battle which went the distance, but it was Guy who prevailed as he won the deciding leg for a 5-3 win.

John Redpath’s impressive season continued as he secured an excellent 5-2 win over Graham Mullen, with winning legs of 17 and 20 (twice) darts.

Earlier in the night, Mullen had more success as he hit two 180s and a tremendous 13-darter as he whitewashed John Squire.

Squire played his second game of the night against Ray Malarkey, with both players content to pick up a point from their 4-4 draw.

Paul Williams stayed top after a 5-2 win over Steve Skinner, which saw him avenge his only defeat of the season, with Williams winning in legs of 16 (twice), 20, 18 and 19 darts.

Skinner managed to pick up a point up earlier when he drew 4-4 in a tight battle with Martin Price.

Price’s poor finishing also cost him dearly in his other game against Spiller Henderson as the latter edged an eight-leg thriller to win 5-3.
